My mom shared that many of you enjoyed my blog and that you have been asking for a new post. I’m busy people, this isn’t my full-time job!
But last weekend we had to “unglue” our mama duck, Speck, who was stuck to the ice on the ground. It was not at all pretty. It was like a relay race running hot water up to the barn to get her free. Running a relay race can be fun, but this was with my mom.

Once we got her free, we (and by we, I mean my mom and dad) had to bring the mama duck inside the house with a towel – MY BATH TOWEL! So that was “fun”. But so far, the mama duck is warming up and still alive! She was in our house for 3 days before Dad finally made mom take her back to the barn.
You might be asking how she got stuck. Ducks do that because in the wild they are used to drinking from lakes when they are swimming and we don’t have a pool when it is -30 outside.
