Another blog post and again, I am talking about the ducks. Who knew they could be so exciting!
As you may know there are many chores on our farm. My sister and I’s chores include putting chickens in their coop at night so they are safe and bringing in their eggs.

Last week, when we were getting the eggs we saw a black one for the first time. I thought it was a grenade, but that would be weird to find in our barn. Luckily, my mom confirmed it was an egg… a duck egg!
If I haven’t already shared, our ducks are Muscovy ducks. Most ducks lay their eggs daily while Muscovy ducks lay in cycles from February to August and lay only 50-80 eggs per year.
That explains why we aren't getting them as much as we would like but they're still cool.
Fun Facts about Duck Eggs:
Duck eggs are richer
Duck eggs are 50-100% larger than chicken eggs
Duck eggs are more nutrient-dense (my mom said that means you get more bang for your buck)
To learn more about Muscovy ducks, I would check out this cool website I found: https://www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/Muscovy_Duck/overview
